David Steinsaltz is interested in a great many things, among them mathematics and statistics, biology, ageing, Buddhism, economics, politics, intellectual property law, the fate of the university in the Internet age, and early 20th century German poetry.
He has never held a real-world job, but has had teaching and/or research posts at the Technical University of Berlin, Technical University of Delft, UC Berkeley, Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario), and is currently an associate professor of statistics at the University of Oxford (since 2007).
